Bethany started playing the cello aged 9 whilst at the Junior department of the Minster school, Southwell. She studied with Ulrich Heinen, principal cellist of the Birmingham symphony orchestra, before attending the University of Huddersfield where she studied under Sue Lowe and Mary Cawood. Whilst at University, Bethany was appointed principle cellist of the New music ensemble, the Early music ensemble and the Symphony orchestra with whom she performed Elgars cello concerto in her final year. Upon graduating Bethany was awarded the Kaye prize for outstanding achievement within the school of strings.

Performance has always been a love of Bethanys and she has many years experience, performing with the East Midlands string orchestra the Lincolnshire Chamber orchestra and the Lincoln Philharmonic orchestra as well as Chamber ensembles The Bridge Piano trio and the Milton cellos. She has also worked as deputy cellist for string trios and quartets across the country including the Simply strings trio and the Silver strings quartet. Bethany offers live music as both a soloist and Chamber musician at Weddings, parties and corporate events. 

As well as her performance work Bethany also has a busy teaching schedule. She has worked alongside the North Yorkshire music service as a teacher of cello and director of the Junior strings ensemble and cello ensemble at the Selby music centre. For Education Bradford she delivered small group Violin and cello tuition as well as whole class lessons. She was appointed director of the Junior string ensemble as well as cello coach for the Senior string ensemble. She is currently working as a cello specialist for the Nottinghamshire music hub as well as teaching privately in and around the Newark area.
